Soleil Constant - Louise Baduel
Together with her fellow performers, Louise Baduel manages to orchestrate performances full of poetry and humour, in a mixture of dance, music, theatre, performance and visual arts. After Loop Affect, she is back with Soleil Constant, with the same performers and the same mixed genres, that shines the spotlight on our inconsistencies and our contradictions when it comes to ecology. Using movement, text and textiles, she creates a colourful, visual world that simultaneously evokes the power of nature and the artificiality of our lifestyles.
Can we transcend fatalism and its logical consequence in the form of ecological laxity and replace it with optimism and collective initiative? Straddling fiction and reality, Louise Baduel and Pascale Gigon mockingly turn our habits upside, rightly so.
At 20.45, in the Chapelle, the show Up Close! by the Cie Michèle Noiret will be presented. Combined ticket available.

Up Close! - Cie Michèle Noiret
With a career spanning forty years, Michèle Noiret returns to the stage with a new solo and a major challenge: questioning her own style of "dance-cinema", without cinema! On an empty stage with no screens or projected images, and with the help of playwright Thierry Thieû Niang, she offers us a change of register to surprise herself and us. A dance that is part of the evolution of a choreographic language carried by a body that has been around for an entire oeuvre. While playing with her own image, the dancer/choreographer summons other characters who bring a solo to the group. Past and present enter into dialogue, interact and remind us of the fragility, the beauty, but also the strength of maturity when it never stops exploring new territories.
At 7 pm, in the Mezzo room, we present Soleil Constant by Louise Baduel. Combi-ticket available.

Dance Dance - ABYSSES (Jeanne Colin)
Jeanne Colin began in 2017 as a dancer and performer with Ayelen Parolin, Éric Minh Cuong Castaing, Tumbleweed, Louise Vanneste... exploring the relationship between movement and the unconscious, blending disciplines and practices such as dance, hypnosis and drawing. With Abysses, the young choreographer continues this exploration by focusing on dreams and REM sleep, a state of rest in which nightmares and fear prevail. Starting from this dichotomy between reality and fiction, feeling and imagination, her piece begins in the form of a reading after which she allows the body and senses to drift towards a free, liberated dance. Playing physically and metaphorically with ropes, knots and lianas, Abysses connects what is hidden and divided.

Day Dance - Flesh can’t can’ t not’t ‘tis flesh h...
Imagine a sci-fi world shaped by the musical genre of reggaeton, the urban dance perreo, the linguistic experience of accessing everyday life through a limited understanding of English, and the historical connection of Central America with the export of exotic fruits.
After El cantar del playo or... a song is a rose is a thorn, Mario Barrantes returns to Kaaitheater with Flesh can’t can’ t not’t ‘tis flesh h…, a multimedia performance that mixes live music, projection of text, dance and sculpture. Two burning bodies guide us through the landscapes of a foreign world, to explore the bittersweet ventures of the Global South-Global North migration, and to trace part of the queer histories found in the Central American region.

Dance Day - Anathème (Compagnie Padmë signé Corentin Milosevic A.S.B.L | ULB Culture)
The cry that freezes,
The cry that soothes,
From blockage to movement, this piece takes the form of a ritual, between darkness and light, between what is said and not said.
The unease is great,
The tension is palpable,
Words are silent.
Locked up in a body in agony, reason is no more. Nothing is under control.
A blissful, mute mouth, no sound comes out. The emotion is too strong. Too violent.
Gestures intensify. The fight grows. Materializes. The body finds meaning. Movement, more powerful.
Until the ultimate confrontation,
letting go,
He surrenders.
Releasing the body in a final breath. The cry reaches us. Audible.
Disarray, chaos and torment are sublimated. The body is abandoned.
The piece takes you into a world of raw emotions and intense sensations, carried by Corentin Milosevic's infectious tribal movement.

Taste of love
"To love oneself is the beginning of a lifelong romance!"
Close your eyes... relax... and think about stories, love stories... Yours perhaps? Or the ones that make you dream? What is the first image that comes to mind? For whom or for what would you lose your mind? Do you prefer passion spiced with adrenaline or more tender and soothing feeling? Do you really know what hurts you and what feels good?
After Taste of Friendship, Taste of Love is a contemporary piece featuring two dancers: Luca Arrigoni and Thibaut Verspreet, directed and choreographed by Luca Arrigoni.
“Compagnie Narcisse” explores the field of possible loves. The eponymous character admires his infinite reflection and his most beautiful love story is himself. Is the search for his own reality in the eyes of his lovers only futile and vain? Is it the opposite of a true encounter and a path of discovery of the other? Or can these two quests coexist? Finding the other by finding oneself...

Landfall - Erika Zueneli
Ten dancers enter the stage one after the other. They face each other as independent individuals. From these almost subversive frontalities, gesture and rhythm emerge. Soon the energy begins to flow abundantly. Each dancer expresses their own unique personality, and these individual expressions are transformed into human relationships. The dancers cross paths, merge and mingle. The colourful social circle takes shape in an original, transgressive and non-centred way. There are ruptures, hesitations and osmoses. Questions arise. All about identity. And what if 'Landfall' was confronting us with our own mismanaged modern society?
At 9pm, at the Théâtre Les Tanneurs, the show 'Vanishing Act' by Thierry Smits / Cie Thor will be presented. Combi-ticket available.

Same Same - Temporary collective & Dame de Pic/Cie Karine Ponties
Hilarious and wacky. 'Same Same' is an electric face-off that explores the absurdity of our behaviour and its unlikely consequences. Behind the codes of a stereotypical society, two high-heeled working girls pit themselves against each other, envious of each other, competing with each other and getting in each other's way until they lose touch with reality and "any sense of reason". It is precisely this lack of reasonableness that Karine Ponties questions, with dark humour, this in-between space where common sense is absent and unknown paths are explored, however absurd they may be. This energetic and exuberant choreography combines sharp criticism, subversive irony and animality. A performance with a life-saving barbarity.
At 7pm, at the Théâtre Les Tanneurs, the show 'Paysage' by Julien Carlier / Cie Aᵇⁱˢ will be presented. Combi-ticket available.

The Korean Cultural Center Brussels is pleased to present this amazing up-coming performance produced by Hun-Mok Jung and his recently established dance academy, JUMOK Dance Theater, founded just last year.
The choreographer is presenting his new creation as director in Brussels, with the performance Yaras, which is a work that represents trans-humanism and gender bending while challenging the concepts of genetic inheritance, technologically enhanced bodies versus anatomical defects/originalities.
The name, Yaras, represents a fictional community, where each dancer is represented by a color and a character. Their society lingers in a pattern of repeated cycles of ecstasy and lethargy, and the key to understanding this mystifying civilization seems to lie in symbolic images, actions and geometrically coded movements.
The piece faces a duality of freedom and control, empathetic and rational, open but rational. Conflicts, collisions and more are actions that will explain to the public who they are and their identity, as well as questioning the public about posthumanism and gender equality. It presents a viewpoint of the invisible wall between men and women and questions how to dismantle the same. Simultaneously, it presents an interrogation of where the line between humans and robots become blurred or even erased. The use of future-oriented objects in this piece hints on the possible disappearance of humankind altogether.
However, as the mystical drama unfurls, the audience will witness how an equilibrium is formed between different identities and how different ideologies can be forged into one belief; leaving us with a ray of hope for a future world in balance with technology, nature, and mankind.
This remarkable Korean choreographer graduated from the Dankook University’s dance department and received a degree as Performance Producer at the Seoul School of Performing Arts in 2001. And three years later he founded JU MOK, his own dance and theater company. In 2007, he won an award to the best choreographer and writer from Dance & people, and from that moment on, his career has flourished so much that he is currently collaborating with Peeping Tom. Working on the Peeping Tom company created in 2000 by Gabriela Carrizo and Franck Chartier has given him the opportunity to teach dance in different countries for the company’s workshops. Peeping Tom and Hun-Mok have collaborated and created 7 pieces together.
One of his major works was creating the dance film Uragano during the pandemic period (2020), which received acclaim and awards worldwide. Two years later, he followed up with "ANON," a continuation of his cinematic endeavors. Collaborating with his Dance Academy, the piece was performed in Brussels and Seoul, earning recognition at the Seoul Dance Film Festival and the Montreal Independent Film Festival in 2021.
Hun-Mok Jung's latest project will grace the stage at Le140, providing the audience with an opportunity to experience, reflect upon, and appreciate the choreography and the skills of the stunning dancers. The debut of this show raises anticipation for potential nominations and accolades for the talented choreographer.
