Jordi Grognard Trio invites Lynn Cassiers
New directions in music!
The original unit of the trio can already count on many years of sessioning and playing together. Jordi's compositions, originals -mostly by Monk and Ornette Coleman- standards, free impro, the band's repertoire is quite broad, always adapting to the vibe and to the acoustic space of venues. To spice things up, I (as Jordi the leader)/we are delighted to invite another partner-in-crime, the talented Lynn Cassiers, who will add her pristine voice and spaced-out electronic set to the mix!

Katharsis “People and Places” CD presentation + Jazz Jam Session
Joseph Nowell (piano), Michele Bondesan (double bass),Giuseppe Sardina (drums) Katharsis was born in 2020 from the meeting of three musicians and long-time friends who had been playing together for years in different contexts (BlueRing Improvisers among others) and decided to bring together their mutual influences in a stable formation. The trio aims to reconcile European jazz, contemporary textures and impromptu composition, creating fragile but intense music, instinctively controlled and made consistent by the deep contact between the musicians.Spring 2024 marks the Italian/Belgian tour presenting their album “People and Places” (Aut Records 2022) consisting only of original pieces written specifically for this formation by the three musicians, which received positive reviews from Italian and international press. FUR - Album Release ‘Bond’
If you like Daniel Lanois, Big Thief, Marc Ribot
FUR is a risk-taker, because that’s how life is, nothing is stable. And to stay alive, you have to bounce back, from one situation to another, from a ballad to an oppressive ostinato, from a drone to a wandering melody. Together they compose a musical hide, with the help of a wild beast that scratches, protects, and stalks with its noise-ist see-saw.
It’s jazz. But pop can be heard too, in the abundance of simple melodies that set the tone for the harmony. all. Sometimes noise breaks the line to plunge us into timbre. Emotion glides along sensation. The abstract intertwines with melodic riffs. Dialogues in counterpoint, collages of opposing energies that glide in suspended moments through arpeggios skimmed by the nimble fingers of the guitarist, while the clarinet weeps and lets us hear the humid sound of its mucous membranes. The drum kit overturns the groove to the extent that it scrambles and annihilates fixed pulsation. Space reigns, revealing a dark, silky night.
