As of late august, we’re bringing a brand-new concept to the capital! GATE is everything you’ve been missing out on: the finest live concerts and DJ-sets, an impressive location, a (limited) crowd of enthusiasts, street art, brass bands, refreshing coktails, delicious food and plenty of surprises. Expect an eclectic, global & damn’ hot line-up.
For over a year, our planet has been living with the heavy burden of the corona pandemic. The vast amount of lives, jobs and time we lost, stole some of our joyfulness and joie de vivre. After the lost summer of 2020, we also had to cancel Couleur Café 2021. But this summer, finally, we’ll once again savor the pleasure of music festivals, live concerts and culture in general. The ideal moment for Couleur Café to spread its wings and come up with a new concept. Prospects of freedom, diversity, music and love.
This summer Couleur Café brings you GATE.
From August 26 to 29 and from September 2 to 5, 2021, the majestic hangar (1300 m²) and the courtyard of Studio CityGate will become the stage for eight unforgettable days.
Couleur Café will do its utmost to make each evening an example of the multicultural values that the festival holds dear.
From Thursday to Saturday, the public will discover new artists and activities, with an adapted culinary offer, an appropriate setting and surprising performances. Every day will be a new experience that will however consist of the following key elements.
- live concerts by mainly Belgian talent
- closing DJ sets from local & international deejays
- collaborations with local associations (such as VOLTA and Byrrrh).
- a fascintating and surprising decoration, realized by local artists
- various mobile animations such as brass bands and street art
- a diversified offer of organic and local food
All these sessions are organized for a limited crowd (based on the COVID measures) at a democratic admission price of 18 € per session.
Both Sundays, 29/8 and 5/9, will be free events, aimed at welcoming as many locals as possible. During these open days, the focus is mainly set on the associations and artists who have found their home in Studio CityGate. Expect – subject to change – for example a petanque tournament, graffiti workshops, skate initiations, etcetera. The focus will be less on live music during those 2 days.
